Norpress (Atenolol) is a cardio-selective β1 adrenergic blocking agent. The principal physiologic action of Norpress (Atenolol) is to competitively block the adrenergic stimulation of β-adrenergic receptors within the myocardium and vascular smooth muscles. Norpress (Atenolol) also allows conduction in the atrioventricular (AV) node.

Norpress (Atenolol) is indicated in hypertension, angina, arrythmia and early intervention in acute myocardial infarction.
