Zita Eye Drops (Azithromycin) is a macrolide antibiotic. It interferes with the protein synthesis of susceptible bacteria by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit resulting bacterial death. It is effective against most ocular infections due to Chlamydia pneumoniae, Chlamydia trachomatis, Moraxella catarrhalis, Mycoplasma hominis, Mycoplasma pneumoniae & Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

Zita Eye Drops is indicated for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis caused by CDC coryneform group, Haemophilus influenzae, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus mitis and Streptococcus pneumoniae. It is also indicated for the treatment of infections in the anterior segment of the eye.
